Welcome to Malawi! Upon arriving at Bakili Muluzi International Airport (former Chileka International Airport) in Blantyre, a guide from Malawi on Wheels will greet you and assist with your luggage as you head to your vehicle. After exchanging pleasantries, you will be taken to Mkulumadzi Lodge in Majete Wildlife Reserve – a top wildlife destination with a diverse animal population and birdlife. The drive will take approximately 2 hours 30 minutes.

Majete Wildlife Reserve is situated at the base of Africa’s Great Rift Valley and, despite its blossoming wildlife population arising from recent conservation efforts, it remains off-the-beaten-track in comparison to other safari destinations in Africa. Expect remote luxury and first-class guiding deep in the unspoiled bush. Your accommodation will be at the Mkulumadzi Lodge in the honeymoon chalet, set in a total seclusion.

Enjoy your last morning at Mkulumadzi Lodge. Your guide will pick you and drive heading to Kuthengo Camp in Liwonde National Park. Arriving around mid-day, experience Kuthengo Camp’s Shire River boat transfer - your immersive entry into Malawi’s premier wildlife sanctuary, famed for its elephant herds and exceptional avian diversity. The drive will take about 4 hours.

Nestled among the Fever trees and baobabs, Kuthengo Camp is an intimate, exclusive, rustic camp with no barriers to nature. You will often have elephants, antelope, warthogs, and more milling around your veranda, along with hippos in the Shire beyond your tent. At the Kuthengo Camp, you have 2 full days to engage yourselves in Liwonde’s wilderness. Activities at Kuthengo include 2 game activities per day where you may choose from game drives in open safaris vehicles, boat safaris on the Shire River and walking safaris to occupy your days.

After your final morning safari activity in Liwonde, you will embark on a scenic transfer to the shimmering shores of Lake Malawi. Upon arrival at Pumulani Lodge, you will be greeted with panoramic views of the lake’s crystal-clear waters and lush hills. Settle into your private villa, featuring a secluded deck and infinity pool overlooking the tranquil expanse. Spend your days snorkeling vibrant coral reefs, kayaking to hidden coves, or simply unwinding on the pristine beach. The drive will take approximately 3 hours.

Pumulani Lodge is subtly nestled in the lush hill of Lake Malawi National Park, overlooking the cool blue waters of the third largest lake in Africa. The lodge is delightful place and offers the most spectacular views of the lake. It offers a perfect mix for a memorable holiday. The ten villas scattered amongst the boulders and tree with the Lake Malawi National Park, and in perfectly with their surroundings.
