Upon arrival at the Chileka International Airport in Blantyre, you will be met by a Malawi on Wheels guide. After greetings your journey to Kara O Mula Country Lodge by Serendib Hotels on the foot of Mount Mulanje will begin. Journey will take about 2 hours driving.

The lodge offers 27 elegant rooms, all with stunning views, blending natural beauty with luxury. Late afternoon after hours of resting, you will have a pre-hike briefing session as you prepare to hike to Sapitwa 3002m.

Included: Accommodation, all meals (lunch, dinner & breakfast) day hike to ancient pools on Mulanje Mountain.

Today after an early breakfast, you will be picked and start driving to CCAP Likhubula House on the base of Mount Mulanje. After a detailed briefing and equipment check, ascend via the fairly shaded trail that follows the Likhubula valley to the top of Lichenya plateau arriving at overnight hut early afternoon. Lunch is served en-route. Late afternoon we take a gentle stroll to nearby Linje pool and view point returning to the hut after sunset. Overnight at C.C.A.P. Cottage. Hiking time 6+1 hrs.

Day 3: Proceed to Chisepo hut on a winding trail that skirts the main ridge of peaks passing by Lichenya Forest Hut before crossing the knife edge water shed which is the source of Likhubula and Thuchira rivers. Lunch is served at the hut which is the base camp for the Sapitwa peak hike. Late afternoon optional stroll to nearby pool returning to the hut before sun set. Overnight at Chisepo Forest hut: Hiking time 6 hrs.

Day 4: After an early light breakfast ascend Sapitwa Peak. On clear day views extend up Zomba Plateau and Lake Chilwa to the North and North West and as far as Milanje mountain in Mozambique to the East. Return to hut for Brunch. Afternoon proceed via undulating path to Thuchira hut. Enjoy sun set at Elephant head view point, overnight at Thuchira Forest hut. Hiking time 8hrs.

Today you descend to pick up point at Thuchira Tourist Lodge via the fairly gradual trail that follows the Lukulezi River valley or directly via elephant head path. Debrief after a swim in the pools/ shower and Lunch.

After lunch, you will be picked and start driving to Kara O Mula Country Lodge for a night on dinner, bed and breakfast.

Enjoy your last morning in the mountain regions of Malawi. After breakfast, you will be picked and start driving to Mvuu Camp in Liwonde National Park, one of Malawi’s premier wildlife destinations. Journey takes about 4 hours driving.

Today after your morning activities, you will be transferred by boat across the Shire River where you will meet your guide and start driving to Salima. Arriving later in the day on the shores of Lake Malawi, you will be transferred to the island by boat. Journey takes about 5 hours driving and 20 minutes boat transfer to the Island.

Blue Zebra Island Lodge is nestled on Nankoma Island, part of the Marelli Archipelago; an unspoiled paradise under the protection of Lake Malawi National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Blue Zebra offers a perfect combination of adventure and relaxation in a tranquil setting, inspired by nature. All good things must come to an end! Today after your breakfast, you will be transferred by boat back to the mainland. You will meet your guide, after greetings you will start driving to Lilongwe International Airport for your flight back home. Your journey to the Airport will be about 45 hours drive.
