Enjoy your last morning on Mumbo Island, after breakfast, you will be transferred back to the mainland where you will meet your guide. After greetings, you will start driving to Lilongwe stopping en-route at Mua Mission’s Kungoni Centre of Culture and Art. Later the journey continues to Lilongwe. The journey takes about 40 minutes driving.

Today the journey continues driving further north to Chelinda Lodge in Nyika National Park – one of Malawi’s most scenic and spectacular wilderness areas. Arriving mid-afternoon, you will be taken straight to Chelinda Lodge. Journey will take about 6 hours driving.

The beautiful Chelinda Lodge is located high on the Nyika Plateau and offers its guests spacious accommodation. All rooms have sweeping views over the rolling grasslands of the plateau, where wildlife including large herds of roan antelopes, eland, and zebra can be spotted; leopard sightings are also increasing.

The Park boosts an incredible mixture of scenery and landscapes – pristine Brachystegia woodlands, mature mountain forest patches, clear running streams and miles of open rolling grasslands. The Plateau is on the UNESCO World Heritage tentative list for its cultural and natural beauty.
