Today after breakfast, you will be picked from Kumbali Country Lodge and we will start driving towards Mchinji Border. Crossing the border into Zambia we will drive straight to South Luangwa National Park. Arriving early afternoon, we will head to KuKaya Lodge.

South Luangwa National Park is the highlight of eastern Zambia. Known to locals as simply 'the South Park,' it was initially founded as the Luangwa Game Park in 1904, and converted to one of three game reserves in 1938. The impressive park covers an area of about 9050 square kilometers of the Luangwa Valley floor, and lies anywhere from 500 meter to 800 meter above sea level. With its western and northwestern edge bounded by the Muchinga Escarpment, and the southern border lined with the meandering Luangwa River, there's no shortage of dramatic and fascinating topography in this stunning game-rich park.

The plateau rises to an elevation of over 2,000 meters, offers visitors a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Zomba plateau has tracts of cedar, pine and cypress but elsewhere the vegetation is wild and mixed. The plateau provides a unique and immersive experience for visitors. The rich biodiversity and picturesque landscapes make it a popular destination for nature and outdoor tourists.

Sunbird Ku Chawe is Malawi’s premier mountain resort and one of the very best places from which to enjoy the splendour of a magnificent scenic country. The hotel sits on the sedge of the Zomba Plateau, which rises to nearly 2200m, (7000ft), with the highest peaks on the rim forming a saucer shaped bowl. Around this rim are some of the most stunning views in Africa. Rooms are en suite, air-conditioned, have digital satellite television, international direct dialling, Wi-Fi internet, email facilities and 220 volts power points (British Standard).

Explore the plateau, visit the trout farm, the scenic William’s Falls, pass by rivers and dams on the plateau. On your way down the hills explore the old colonial capital by visiting the Memorial Tower to the fallen brave men of the Malawian Battalion, in the famed King’s African Riffles, drive through the market to the oldest and largest botanical garden in the country, proceeding to the old Parliament buildings and National Archives.

Enjoy your last morning on the Mountain. Today we will be driving to Mkulumadzi Lodge in the Majete Wildlife Reserve.

Majete is about 2 hours’ drive from the Airport.

Mkulumadzi Lodge is an exclusive luxury lodge in southern Malawi, set on a rush riverbank within Majete Wildlife Reserves. It enjoys an idyllic location at the confluence of two rivers shaded by giant leadwood trees.

Enjoy your last morning in the reserve. Today you will be transferred to Huntingdon House in the Satemwa Tea Estate. Founded in 1923 by the Maclean Kay, a Scottish immigrant and former rubber planter, and has since been passed down from generation to the current 3rd generation of the family.

The estate is home to Huntingdon House, originally a family home to the founders of the estate. The house has been tastefully refurbished to offer 5 unique rooms, each individually decorated to reflect the quirks and character of this grand residence.

Guest are encouraged to share the colourful history of one of Malawi’s oldest homes while being spoilt by a team of professional staff.

Huntingdon House and Satemwa Estate, evokes a romantic nostalgia for Malawi's past. By African standards, 100 years of history is seldom found. Every tea field, tree and building on this estate shares a tale and you are invited to enjoy a glimpse of a bygone era in this rapidly changing continent.

The Estate and the House is still runned by his family. We hope you will find a home away from staying at the house.

All good things must come to an end. Today after breakfast, you will be transferred to Chileka International Airport in Blantyre for your flight back home.
