He will hand over the vehicle and all necessary documents for your self-drive holiday in Malawi. You will start driving to Kumbali Country Lodge in Lilongwe.

Today after breakfast, get yourselves ready and start driving north of Malawi Viphya plateau in the northern region of Malawi. to Arriving around mid-afternoon, you will head straight to Luwawa Forest Lodge.

Viphya Forest, one of Africa's largest man-made forests, runs parallel to the stunning Lake Malawi. This breath-taking highland region is made up of rocky peaks, expansive valleys, and rolling hills covered in forests. This remote region, which is well-known for its incredibly dramatic scenery, provides tourists with a wide range of amazing activities, such as hiking trails, mountain biking, horseback riding, trekking, rock climbing, abseiling, canoeing, and fishing.

Luwawa Forest Lodge offers a range of accommodations, including two-story cottages and family chalets, all set within the magnificent gardens. Your next destination is the Nyika National Park. After breakfast, you start driving further up north of Malawi to one of the most beautiful parks in Africa – the Nyika National Park. The 3200 sq km park is one of Malawi’s most scenic and spectacular wilderness areas. It boosts an incredible mixture of scenery and landscapes – pristine brachystegia woodlands, mature mountain forest patches, crystal clear running streams and miles and miles of open rolling grasslands.

The beautiful Chelinda Lodge is located in the highlands of Nyika National Park, offers its guest’s spacious accommodation. The lodge lies on the backdrop of the towering pine trees. Situated high on the plateau, the eight luxuriously appointed chalets offer paranomic views over the rolling grasslands of the plateau, where wildlife including large herds of roan, eland and zebra can be spotted around the lodge. The lodge sits on 2300 meters above sea level overlooking the rolling grasslands.

Today the journey continues. After your breakfast, you will start driving to Tongole Wilderness Lodge in the Nkhotakota Wilderness Reserve.

In the shadow of the Chipata Mountain lies Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve, the oldest and largest reserve in Malawi. The reserve is 1,802 km² landscape of dense canopy woodland intersected by three rivers leading to Lake Malawi that nourishes the dense Miombo forests that makes up the Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve.

Enjoy your morning in the reserve. After your breakfast, get ready to get back on the road and to Blue Zebra Island Lodge. Getting to Salima, you will drive to Chilili Whistlers for your boat transfer to Nankoma Island on Lake Malawi.

Nankoma Island is part of the stunning Marelli Archipelago and is home to a vast array of freshwater fish, birdlife and a diverse array of flora and fauna. All good things must come to an end! Enjoy last morning on the Island on Lake Malawi. After breakfast, you will be transferred by Boat back to the mainland. Arriving on the mainland, you find your vehicle and start driving straight to Kamuzu International Airport for your flight back home.

At the Airport, your Malawi on Wheels guide will welcome you and will hand over the vehicle and the documents to him. He will help you with the back in the Airport building.
