Upon arrival at the Kamuzu International Airport, you will be welcomed by your Malawi on Wheels guide. After greetings, your journey will begin. You will be transferred to Ntchisi Forest Lodge in the Ntchisi Forest Reserve.

Ntchisi Forest Reserve is one of the last remaining patches of tropical rainforest in southern Africa. The reserve is 75sq km and is surrounded on all sides by rolling hills covered by subsistence farming and dotted with traditional villages. It is untouched paradise, undiscovered by mass tourism. The forest is a haven for rare birds, several species of samango monkeys and baboons, hyenas, small antelopes, civet, serval cat and many other small species. The rainforest flora, however, is the real highlight of this area of outstanding natural beauty.

Ntchisi Forest Lodge is a remote eco-lodge in a historical building in a rainforest location with the most stunning view in Malawi. Here you can experience the real Africa, either on one of the many rainforest or mountain hikes, or you can participate in some of our cultural activities in remote rural villages still untouched by tourism. Enjoy your last morning in the forest reserve. After breakfast the journey continues to Luwawa Forest Lodge in the Viphya Plantation.

Viphya Forest is one of the largest manmade forests in Africa, running parallel to the magnificent Lake Malawi, the Viphya Mountain rise up from the Viphya Plateau in north-central Malawi. This stunning highland area encompasses forested rolling hills, vast valleys and rocky peaks. Well known for its exceptionally dramatic scenery, this remote area offers visitors a host to wonderful activities including mountain biking, horse riding, trekking, rock climbing abseiling canoeing, fishing and a variety of hiking trails. The mountains provide spectacular views, diverse ecosystem habitats, and abundant wildlife including bush pig, antelope, monkey, duiker and leopard.

Located within the glorious gardens, Luwawa Forest Lodge has variety of options including family chalets and two storey cottages. Your next destination is the Nyika National Park. After breakfast, we will start driving further north to one of the most beautiful parks in Africa – the Nyika National Park.

Nyika National Park is located in the northern Malawi, is Malawi’s oldest and largest National Park covering an area of 3200 sq Km. The park covers the whole area of the plateau, a unique upland with most parts lying about 2000 m above sea level offering breath-taking views, like none other in the whole of Africa. The Park is one of Malawi’s most scenic and spectacular wilderness areas. It boosts an incredible mixture of scenery and landscapes – pristine brachystegia woodlands, mature mountain forest patches, crystal clear running streams and miles and miles of open rolling grasslands.

Chelinda Camp is situated on the rolling highlands on Nyika National Park. The camp offers a comfortable accommodation in the Park. Accommodation at the camp includes four Chalets, which have two double bedrooms each, a dining area, a small kitchen and a bathroom, which includes both a bathtub and shower. A six twin bedded suites are also available and located opposite a Chelinda dam. Meals are saved in a cosy dining area equipped with own fireplace. The Camp is ideal for families with children, school groups and travellers seeking a comfortable and affordable stay on the plateau.

Today after breakfast we drive back to Mzuzu and proceed to the Lake district of Nkhatabay. The next destination is on the shores of Lake Malawi - Makuzi Beach Lodge.

Situated on the beautiful lake shore of Lake Malawi in its very own cove with tropical gardens and abundant bird and butterfly life. Makuzi Beach is a family owned business since 1993. The Lodge was built using local materials and expertise as an eco-friendly paradise. Over the years Makuzi has incredibly established gardens full of exotic fruits, spices and plants, plus own vegetable and herb gardens.

Today after breakfast, we get ready to leave for Rafiki Safari Lodge set adjacent to the Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserves.

In the shadow of the Chipata Mountain lies Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve, the oldest and largest reserve in Malawi. The reserve is 1,802 km² landscape of dense canopy woodland intersected by three rivers leading to Lake Malawi that nourishes the dense Miombo forests that makes up the Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve. Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserves is a birding mecca and with newly revitalised Game Park is now stocked with Africa’s favourite large species of game, making your wilderness safari holiday complete.

Rafiki Safari Lodge offers an authentic wilderness experience in the Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserves. The lodge has spacious en-suite safari units, each with a private veranda boosting views of over the reserve to the distant mountains, providing safari accommodation, as well as full camping facilities. Today the journey continues to one of the most stunning destinations in Malawi – the Zomba Plateau. Arriving in Zomba early afternoon, we will head straight to Zomba Forest Lodge on the Zomba Plateau.

Located in southern Malawi, Zomba is a charming and picturesque destination known for its stunning landscapes, rich history, and vibrant culture, Zomba offers visitors a unique and unforgettable travel experiences from exploring the city's colonial architecture, hiking on the Zomba Plateau, or visiting the local markets and enjoying local cuisine, there is something for everyone to enjoy in this hidden gem of a destination.

Zomba Forest Lodge is nestled in the picturesque Zomba Plateau, located in the southern Malawi. This historic lodge was built in the early 20th century and originally served as a residence for the British colonial administrators. Enjoy your last morning on the plateau. After breakfast you will be picked and head down to Majete Wildlife Reserve in Chikwawa.

Today the journey continues on to one of the most stunning destinations in Malawi – Mumbo Island on Lake Malawi 45 minutes’ boat ride from the mainland of Cape Maclear.

Mumbo Island is a pristine and deserted tropical Island, and the undisputed jewel of the Lake Malawi National Park. The Island has never been populated and is still in its natural state with a thick covering of Miombo woodland and ancient fig and baobab trees.

The Island Lodge offers an exclusive escape on an otherwise-deserted island in Lake Malawi’s nature, guests can enjoy ample tranquillity and barefoot luxury during their stay.
