The Lodge boasts of a range of luxurious, comfortable, and unique accommodations in 6 Twin or Double Chalets/ rondavels made of natural materials. All designed to provide guests with maximum comfort and relaxation.

All rooms have en-suite bathroom, shower, safe, a walk-in wardrobe, hair dryers, Air conditioning, fans large mirrors, coffee/tea making station. Each chalet has its own large private deck overlooking the Zambezi River, offering breath-taking views of the river and surrounding bush, allowing guests to feel completely immersed in nature.

The lodge features a swimming pool overlooking the river, where guests can cool off and unwind after a day of exploring.

Kanyemba Lodge is located 45km outside Lower Zambezi National Park and offers full day game drives for guests staying for a minimum of 3 nights.

Early morning departure for a boat ride to the base camp of Conservation Lower Zambezi where we transfer to open top game drive vehicle. The full day is spent exploring loops to find 4 of the big 5 (elephant, buffalo, lion, and leopard) and various herbivores and birds. After a picnic lunch, we return to CLZ and transfer back to the boat for the 2 hour trip back to the lodge.

Get up close and personal to nature in a way that you just can’t manage from a vehicle.

The focus of our walks is on vegetation, tracks, and other signs of life on the island. Insects and birds are a feature, though it is not uncommon to see herbivores such as bushbuck, waterbuck, and even elephant while on foot. You will complete your walk at the Kanyemba Island Bush Camp ready for a transfer back to the lodge around 9.30am.

The Zambezi River offers boat cruises for those who prefer to experience the bush from the water.

Morning cruises depart the lodge early in the morning, providing the best light for spotting bird and animal life. These cruises typically last about 3 hours.

Sunset cruises depart at 4pm, taking you up and downstream to witness the wildlife's late afternoon activities. The Zambezi at sunset offers an enchanting experience with bushbucks, waterbucks, elephants, hippos, crocs, and lions.

Canoe safaris offer a unique way to explore the Zambezi River, allowing you to explore the tranquility of the river and witness the unique emotional power of the Zambezi. With paddles dipping in and out of the water, you can easily approach wildlife, such as birds and animals, as the sun rises and animals’ wake.

This silent approach allows you to get close to the animals drinking along the river or quietly soaking in the shallow waters.

Fish for a variety of species including the mighty Tiger Fish!

One of the most popular activities in the region would have to be angling on the Zambezi River. Head out onto the Zambezi in one of our fishing boats, to try your luck (and skill of course) with the famous Tiger Fish. Plenty of other species abound, but a fight with a Tiger Fish is one that will stay with you for life. Keen anglers can also search for bream, vundu, nkupi and plenty of other species of tropical fish.

Fishing is available in the morning or afternoon strict on catch and release.

Kanyemba Lodge, situated near Makanya Village, offers visits to this typical Zambian village for guests interested in rural experiences. Accompanied by one of the staff, guests will be introduced to the communities.

The village walk can be combined with a sunset cruise or a visit to a banana farm. The lodge is happy to provide these experiences to guests seeking a unique Zambian experience.
