When To Visit

The best time to visit Mulanje Mountain for hiking is during the dry season, which extends from May to September. This period offers the most favorable weather conditions with pleasant, cool temperatures and reduced risk of rain.

Hiking during the rainy season (December to April) is avoided when trails can become slippery and visibility is poor.

May to September - This is the ideal time for hiking, with pleasantly cool daytime temperatures and the potential for night frost, especially from May to August.

October and November - These months are the hottest and haziest, although the rains move in from December to March, making the weather cooler and clearer.

December to April - This is the rainy season, and while hiking is possible with extra precautions, trails can become slippery and visibility may be reduced.
