Set adjacent to the Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve, Rafiki Safari Camp is a Malawi Safari Lodge from which to have an authentic wilderness experience. Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve in Malawi is something of a birding mecca and this newly revitalized game park is now stocked with some of Africa’s favourite large species of game, making your wilderness safari holiday complete.

Owner-run Rafiki Safari Camp boasts spacious, en suite Safari Units, each with a private verandah, providing Safari accommodation, as well as, full camping facilities. All accommodation is family friendly. A beautiful Boma to while away the evenings, listening to crickets chirping, night-jars calling and maybe the occasional elephant making itself known. We are a self-sustainable, solar powered and eco-friendly lodge and camp site. The perfect Malawi Safari Lodge.

Rafik Safari Camp offers a family friendly safari feeling with the comforts and luxury that make your holiday special. The double/twin or family luxury safari units have en-suite bathrooms with showers and a private verandah boasting views over the reserve to the distant mountains.

All accommodation is finished with electric fans, cotton percale fabric linen and towels. The bedrooms are as “mosquito-proof” as possible, with gauze sashes on the windows and canopied mosquito nets over the beds.

With five individual safari units, the Rafiki Safari Camp can accommodate up to fourteen guests and children are welcome.

The eco-lodge rely purely on sustainable solar energy.

The Central Area

The Boma is a common area for the use of the Safari Unit occupants, with a self-service bar and idyllic views. Catered/self-catered kitchen amenities are available. If you are staying on a catered basis, you can expect home-style cooking, made with locally sourced organic produce.

Enjoy the sounds of ta tranquil wilderness experience, with an ambient evening fire in front of The Boma for you to enjoy.

Things To Do

Rafik Safari Lodge offers a variety of activities that can guests at the camp can choose during their stay, such as game drives, nature walks, game drives, walking safaris, hiking, and birding.

When To Visit

Rafik Safari Lodge is open all year-round. However, the best time to visit the lodge is during the dry season, from May to October. This period offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities as animals congregate around the dwelling water sources. The weather is also pleasant with clear skies and comfortable temperatures.

However, November to April (wet season) is good option if you are interested in lush green scenery, flowers, and baby animals, the rainy season is a good option, with few tourists and potentially lower rates.
